We optimize the long-distance road freight transport industry through a
system of relays, where one driver switches with another who is waiting in
an exchange point. Just like the old system of posthouses!

We are based in Madrid although we have a global scope. We have operations
in Madrid, Galicia, Valencia, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands or France
among others. Our operating languages are English and Spanish, although in
our team there are people who speak Greek, Portuguese, German, Chinese,
Dutch, French or Italian.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Senior Operational Research who wants to
face our challenges on route optimization and task assignment.

We are interested in a talented individual with a high level of motivation
and sense of responsibility (we are quite flexible so we need highly
responsible individuals) that will work on our optimization and artificial
intelligence models: from programming to promoting new fresh ideas along
the way.  Creativity is a must!

In  this  role  you  will  join  a  growing  team  of  developers
building  a  product  which  includes a web app, an android app and
advanced mathematical models. You will need to be an experienced Operations
Research modeler with strong engineering skills, interested in the
challenges of delivering advanced optimization technology as decision
support software for our users.

Salary 40K - 50k

¿What do we need from you?

Code in python.

Work on our optimization model.

Propose new ideas and products that our model should include.

Define with our engineers the product infrastructure.

Connect our model to out tech-stack.

Design and develop new models to cover our user needs.

Deliver and test new functionalities under CI/CD.

Participate in the agile process each sprint to incrementally enhance and
test the product.

Improve our Artificial Intelligence models.

¿What you’ll do?

Your first week you’ll be onboarded in the company by our starter pack.
During the first you’ll learn our tech stack and you’ll get a better
understanding on our user needs.  On the tech side, you'll set up your
environment and learn the tools that we use, you’ll be involved in the
dailies and weeklies meetings. While on the user side, you will work hand
in hand with our operations team, which involves planning our drivers tasks
and monitoring their progress.

Your first month you’ll have a grasp of our optimization model, know the
system we use and you have already completed some medium size tasks. You’ll
have contributed to some decision or improvements on the model and you
already know the whole team and the company vision. By this time you’ll get
our culture and be involved in our feedback process, which allows you to
give us actionable feedback on how to improve and to design your directions
on how to evolve towards your first 3 months.

Your third month you are no longer a rookie, you changed a few things in
the optimization model and already messed with our app. From now on, all is
fog, dragons and roadmap... up to you in this quest, you'll face major
model restructurings, building new models for the very beginning, keep
understanding our user needs, develop  super cool features, super hard
features, all the startup pack :D


¿What should be the ideal profile?

4+ years experience working on optimization projects.

4+ years experience on Python and knowledge of relational databases.

Fluent in English, valuable 2nd language (Spanish, French, German…).

Experience studying or working solving the vehicle routing problem or crew
scheduling problem.

We need you to be creative, brave, fast learner and proactive.

Want to build things from scratch.

Experience of working effectively within a team of developers,
collaborating remotely.

Having worked in other startups or anything related with innovation would
be desirable.

Experience in NLP models is a plus.
